Well as you can see from the main photo above, Phuket is exactly the same with airliners skimming only feet above the sandy beach seconds before touching down!

There is also a perfectly located ‘spotters café about midway along the runway, perfect for logging and photography. Hot and cold meals and drinks, as well as a covered balcony.
We have purposely chosen to go in the more expensive ‘high season’ for two reasons: Phuket Airport is at its busiest. This is a very popular holiday destination with around 30-40 aircraft movements an hour at peak times, and the wind is predominantly blowing from the east: the best direction, ensuring aircraft land over the beach.
