For aviation enthusiasts, there are certain locations whose history gives them a significance far beyond simply watching another flying display. The runway at Kennedy Space Center where America's Space Shuttles returned from orbit is one of them. The headline aviation event is a Salute to America in Space, staged directly on Kennedy's historic Shuttle Landing Facility, now the Launch and Landing Facility. The USAF Thunderbirds are already confirmed, with further NASA, military and civilian aircraft expected as the programme develops and time also spent around Kennedy Space Centre, as well as local aviation musems such as Valiant Air Command Museum in titusville.
