This is a one-off, specially organised trip designed for enthusiasts who want to experience both the aircraft and its operational environment before it leaves service, and to record the last flight within the US military with the final operational squadron VMA-223 ‘Bulldogs’. We travel into North Carolina for a two-day aviation programme centred on Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, the remaining key operating base for USMC Harrier units. Our visit will encompass an Open House on base with the last operational squadron VMA-223 ‘Bulldogs’ as well as a community celebration picnic, a fly-past and the official sundowner ceremony itself on base on June 3rd.
